Milang - June long weekend

So it was only 10 days ago when we decided we would go somewhere close to home for the 3 day winter break. Milang was booked and the planning started.
As it turned out, all 3 kids have a school disco on Friday night that doesn't finish till 9pm. In my usual caring manner, I announced that I was going to go anyway and left mid afternoon for the huge 50km trip. Setting up isn't quite as straight forward when on your own I now know. Try getting a van level without getting out the car 10 times to check the bubble level on the A-Frame!
And then when unrolling the awning, I found it was full of rotting gum tree leaves and soaking wet. I swear I had cleaned it as I am pretty anal about keeping everything on the van clean, but it was wet and messy when packing up at Clare, so I can only assume that a brain fade happened and I forgot.
Anyway, finally got set up, cleaned the awning and made all the beds, unpacked everything and sat down with a cold brew despite the fact it was only 10 degrees outdoors.
Went back to pick everyone up from the kids school at 9pm and turned around to finally get back here just after 10.
The kids are exhausted, but excited. I am excited, but exhausted. Tracy is too exhausted to be excited.
