The kids woke up a little over excited and ruined our dream of sleeping in until 7:30am, demanding our attention for menial stuff like making them breakfast, unchaining them from their beds etc.
Once the ensuing chaos had been dealt with, we took the soccer ball and cricket stuff down to the local sports fields. 1st stop was the soccer pitch, however this was a bit difficult due to the unkempt grass being thicker than a homeless woman's head of hair. Next was the cricket nets where I took control and showed yet another one of my many talents and bowled at least one out of every 5 balls within half a metre of the wicket I was aiming for. It was about 30 minutes later when my body started telling me this want going to end well if I didn't lay down and have a rest sometime soon, so we headed back to camp for a rest and some lunch.
Tonight was Weber night, and I cooked up the best marinated beef roast ever. It was ever so slightly on the rare side, but I would never admit that to anyone that asks.
Sunday was the perfect day. 30 degree forecast and a free swimming lake next door.
Despite the kids being threatened with life imprisonment if they were noisy this morning, they still managed to wake up everyone in the park in their "super quiet" voices.
We had a quick game of Caravan Park cricket with no rules, which sent Dylan's OCD running at 100km/hr and unable to process why he had to let someone else bat when he wasn't actually out yet. Combined with Tracy's mandate of having fun whether you want to or not, the game ended about 7 minutes later with Dylan crawling into a bed to read his book, and Tracy parking herself in a chair where she couldn't see him, reading her book.
Some games of UNO passed a little more time, until we went to the local public swimming lake for the afternoon.
I had a bit of a moment after tea and decided to mess around with the camera and take a mountain of fun family shots.
There are way too many to post here, but needless to say, another one of my amazing talents was displayed with the resulting photos. In my opinion.
